Meryl Jones is a student at Pensacola High School in the International Baccalaureate Program. She served as Student Government Association an officer the past three years, and is currently the Student Body President. Meryl is also involved with SGA at a state level and has attended the Florida Association of Student Councils (FASC) annual convention the past three years. Her junior year, she served as the Secretary for the First District of the Florida Association of Student Councils, and she currently serves at the District’s Vice President. Along with Student Government, Meryl is a member in many other co-curricular activities including: National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta. She is an avid swimmer, and advanced to the Florida High School Athletic Association regional meet the past three years. In the spring, Meryl trades her swim cap and goggles for cleats and a lacrosse stick, playing as a defender for her school’s women's lacrosse team.
Meryl is a highly involved member of First United Methodist Church of Pensacola. She has been a member of the church’s youth choir for the past five years. Along with regular Sunday morning services, she attends youth group on Sunday evenings and bible study on Monday mornings. Her hobbies include painting, photography, crafting, hiking, and traveling with her family. Recently her family has traveled to the Grand Canyon, Bryce National Park, and Zion National Park. Meryl wishes to one day travel to all fifty eight National Parks in the United States.
